Radon is a major health risk. Elevated radon level are known to cause at least 22,000 deaths each year in the US. With more energy efficient homes, radon can't dissipate into the environment naturally as it once did. It becomes trapped in the home elevating radon concentrations increases leading to lung cancer and morbidity.
The EPA recommends every house be tested. Doing this when buying or selling your home allows you to take immediate action to be assured of a healthy home environment.
We use state-of-the-art continuous Corentium Pro monitors with passive diffusion, alpha spectrometry and silicon photodiodes to measure alpha particle energy from radon gas decay. Calibration is C-NRPP certified to a standard deviation +/-7%. or 0.12 pCi/L, where other monitors range upwards to +/-21%.
We take this seriously. You should too.
